Celebrate Christmas with a Virtual Gift

Give a wilder Northumberland this Christmas.

In the heart of Northumberland lies 3,800 hectares of moorland, woodland, rivers and farmland. This precious place is at risk of being sold off, divided and lost for nature.

Your gift this Christmas can protect the Rothbury Estate.

As winter falls, frost covered heather sparkles on the rolling hills of the Rothbury Estate. The forests fall silent and time seems to stand still. But beneath the frozen ground, life is waiting for what comes next.

This Christmas, give a gift that cherishes your loved one and the wild places they hold dear.

By choosing a virtual gift - a donation to help secure the Rothbury Estate - you’ll be helping protect its wild beauty for generations to come. You’ll receive a downloadable certificate to share - a simple, heartfelt way to celebrate the season.

Your gift will help us move closer to our £30 million goal by September 2026. You'll be part of securing the Rothbury Estate forever as a living, breathing landscape where nature and communities thrive together.

Thanks to generous support, including philanthropic loans, we have already purchased part of the Rothbury Estate, which includes the much-loved Simonside Hills. If you would like to discuss a major gift, please contact The Wildlife Trusts' major gifts fundraiser Debbie Johnson.

All funds raised - including any funds raised over our target amount - will go towards nature’s recovery at the Rothbury Estate.

In the event we don’t raise enough funds to purchase the entire Estate or we are unable to complete the purchase for any reason, funds raised will go towards nature's recovery in the Simonside Hills and surrounding areas.
