People's Postcode Lottery Charity Gala

People's Postcode Lottery Charity Gala

Last week we headed up to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh for the People’s Postcode Lottery annual charity gala, a great get together of the charities and People’s Postcode Lottery team to celebrate the players and the excellent projects they support.

In 2017, players of People’s Postcode Lottery raised an amazing £93 million for charities across England, Scotland and Wales, a phenomenal amount which supports many amazing causes. Last year The Wildlife Trusts received £2.4 million in funding from players which has allowed us to do a huge range of work, from protecting Ospreys and Beavers in Scotland to providing Forest School sessions, giving children access to nature across England.

Emma Thompson, President of the Helen Bamber Foundation gave an inspired speech about her charities work and the importance of the players, "Never have I felt more excited by the support of an organisation. People's Postcode Lottery offers financial help, yes, but even more than that, it provides extraordinary moral support."

People’s Postcode Lottery also took the opportunity to announce that now a minimum of 32% of ticket prices will go to charities, meaning that players are donating even more, and we can’t say thank you enough! Since 2005, players have raised an amazing £293 million for charities across Great Britain and internationally.
