Act for nature

Take a stand for nature in whatever way works for you. From craftivism and signing petitions, to raising awareness on local environmental issues that matter to your community.

It doesn’t have to be big, every small action matters and every contribution makes a difference. What will you try?

Learn about nature

A great way to connect to nature, our communities, and with wildlife and people all around the world is to “keep learning”. Learning makes us feel more confident and gives us a sense of control, which can be a huge help when tackling eco-anxiety. A great way to learn is from others’ experiences. Research stories about how other people experience nature to expand your knowledge about the natural world. You could also try looking up interesting facts about the nature that is all around us!

Focus on well-being

Spending time in nature can lower stress, and has even been proven to lower blood pressure. A healthy environment means our minds and bodies will be healthier too. 'Taking notice' of nature can make us feel calmer, happier and more able to cope with the stresses of modern life. Spend a little time each day outside if you can, listening to bird song, and taking notice of plants and trees. Even looking at nature outside your window can have an impact!

Give back to nature

Nature provides us with clean air, food, water and medicine. It also offers space for peace, inspiration and recreation. Giving back to nature could involve creating log shelters or bee hotels, reducing your carbon emissions or going peat free at home.

Enjoy nature-based competitions

Try taking part in nature-based activities and games – on your own, with friends, family, work colleagues or classmates. Challenge each other to photography competitions, species spotting, wildlife quizzes and more. Connecting to others is not only beneficial for our own well-being, but it also enables us to unite to protect nature, to spread awareness of the challenges it faces, and to share learning and experiences to help others connect.
