Empowering and enabling finance sector employees to take action for nature’s recovery

Being outdoors and volunteering in natural spaces has proven beneficial effects on individuals' wellbeing. Since 2021, our partnership with Novuna has enabled hundreds of their employees to take part in a Wild Work Day with Wildlife Trusts closest to their offices. This involves small teams of employees getting involved in a range of physical conservation activities to help manage a variety of habitats and green spaces on our nature reserves.
Every year, The Wildlife Trusts host thousands of organisation employees in volunteering. A range of subjective wellbeing benefits have been reported, stemming from the opportunity to give something back to their communities, connect with their colleagues, get active outdoors, learn new things, and simply have the space to slow down and take notice of the natural world around them.
We are delighted that Novuna are also supporting the Yorkshire Peat Partnership by donating £75,000 over a 3-year period. This funding will contribute to vital peatland restoration across North Yorkshire, and the Yorkshire Peat Partnership’s aim of restoring all upland blanket bog that requires it by 2035.
