About the event
Pens at the ready! Join your wild and wonderful hosts, Sophie Pavelle and David Oakes as we celebrate 30 Days Wild with the Big Wild Quiz. Whether you're a seasoned nature nerd or just love a bit of wildlife trivia, this quiz is for everyone.
Team up with friends and family or fly solo, but don’t worry — you don’t need to be a nature expert to take part (though having one on your team wouldn’t hurt).
Play along at home and share your scores with us – let’s see who comes out on top in the wildest quiz of the year!
Register to join the quiz for free, live on YouTube!

Meet your hosts
David Oakes
Actor and podcaster, David Oakes, has graced our screens in fantastic period dramas from Victoria to The Borgias. When he’s not on set or treading the boards he’s out walking in a glorious wild place talking to experts about the natural world and celebrating it in his podcast, Trees A Crowd. David has been a dedicated supporter of The Wildlife Trusts and became our Vice President in 2026.
Sophie Pavelle
Devon-based author and science communicator Sophie shares her passion for adventure and nature through storytelling - on social media, in books, on the radio and in magazines. Her first book, ‘Forget Me Not: finding the forgotten species of climate change Britain’ won The People’s Book Prize for Non-Fiction (2023) and was longlisted for the Wainwright Prize for Writing on Conservation (2023). Her second book ‘To Have or To Hold: nature’s hidden relationships’ was published in May 2025 (Bloomsbury) and explores symbiosis and nature connectedness. When she’s not writing, or podcasting with Emma Brisdion on ‘For What It’s Earth’, Sophie can likely be found in the sea, or whizzing down a trail on her bike.
