Make a pledge for the sea

Small everyday choices can have a big impact on the wild world around us. You may live many miles from the sea, but that doesn't mean that you can't make a difference. Your actions do matter!

This National Marine Week, will you make one simple change for marine wildlife?

Choose from three pledges:

  • Watch what you wash down the sink
  • If you eat fish, choose sustainable seafood
  • Reduce your use of single-use plastics

If you sign up to receive emails, we'll send you useful guides to help you with your pledge.

Watch what you wash down the sink. Many household products, such as oils and chemicals, can end up in our waterways and then in the sea. By disposing of waste properly and choosing nature-friendly products, we can keep our waters clean for marine wildlife.

If you eat fish, choose sustainable seafood. Choosing sustainably sourced seafood helps protect vulnerable fish populations, reduces the impact of fishing on marine habitats and other wildlife, and helps support fishers who are fishing responsibly.

Reduce your use of single-use plastics. Plastic pollution can harm marine animals and other wildlife. Small changes, such as reusing items and avoiding unnecessary packaging, can make a big difference.
