Will your councillors give nature a voice?
Councillors can create a wilder future
Your local councillors are there to represent your views and they need to understand how important nature and healthy wild spaces are to you.
They should be supporting plans to tackle climate change and to bring wildlife back to your neighbourhood.
Local Elections are taking place across England on 7 May 2026.
We have posters available for you to pop in your window or place by the door to give you key issues to talk about if you are approached by a candidate before election day.
Councillors can play a major role in improving the serious state of our natural world. Council candidates can stand up for nature by making a commitment to pursue key policies.
Score your candidates
We would like to know how well your candidates are doing on the subject of nature and climate - you can give them a satisfaction score!
If you have had a conversation or met your candidates choose the face below that best represents how seriously you feel the nature and climate crises are being taken by them. You can also include more details and an overview of the information they shared if you want to.
We’ll regularly update the overall satisfaction score based on the feedback we receive. We will use any further details to build relationships with local councils, helping them improve their nature knowledge and to raise their game when it comes to making plans for nature.
Are your candidates talking about the state of nature? Are their plans for nature and climate achievable? Were you satisfied, indifferent or unsatisfied with their action for nature's recovery?
