We urgently need to raise £100,000 through our Wild Sussex Marine Appeal to fund marine surveys, volunteer training, specialist equipment and the conservation expertise needed to turn evidence into action. When important decisions are made about our seas, nature can't speak for itself. But evidence can.

Together, our marine conservation team and dedicated volunteers gather the evidence needed to protect marine wildlife, challenge harmful activities and secure stronger protections for Sussex's seas.

Through our Seasearch and Shoresearch programmes, our staff and volunteers collect the data that drives our marine conservation work.

This evidence has helped secure protection for nine Marine Conservation Zones around Sussex, contributed to the recovery of our kelp forests and continues to defend important marine habitats from threats.
