Trust Members are invited to join us at the Katherine Warington School in Harpenden to learn about our achievements over the last year and our exciting plans for the future.

4.00pm: Talk - A Guide to the Herts Environmental Records Centre – managing biodiversity data for conservation action with Alex Waechter, Records Centre Manager.
The Herts Environmental Records Centre (HERC) has been a central hub for collecting, collating and sharing biodiversity data in Herts since 1973. Since 2013 it’s been hosted by HMWT. Find out about what HERC work looks like today, and how being a part of HMWT helps both of us deliver better-informed action for nature.
4.20pm: Talk - Investigating Biodiversity with Environmental DNA with Nicola Thompson, Rivers Officer.
Using the emerging field of eDNA to gather information on species within our rivers and wetlands. What this method does and doesn't tell us and how we are using it here at HMWT. Including both our joint project with the NHM and our HL funded pilot project to search for the critically endangered Eel Anguilla anguilla.

Parking is available at Katherine Warington School for 70-80 cars. However, please be aware that this is available on a first come, first served basis for all venue users, not just HMWT, and we cannot reserve spaces.
Members Unable to Attend
Members who are unable to attend the event can submit a Proxy Vote. All proxy vote forms must be submitted to the Trust by end of business on 14th October 2026. Notes on voting can be found at the bottom of this page.
Due to lack of previous take-up, we will not be offering a live stream of the AGM this year.

Please note the AGM is only open to current members of Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. If you would like to attend please join here.
We kindly ask that you book a place if you wish to attend so that we can ensure we are keeping to the venues capacity.
Please note the talks are not aimed at children, but children are very welcome to attend as long as a place has been booked for them.
