DWT is seeking an Operations Officer to coordinate and manage the smooth operational running of the organisation.  They will use their experience and expertise to provide oversight of the organisation’s soft services and to assist with the development of central procurement.  They must be knowledgeable in current health and safety requirements and experienced in the delivery of efficient procedures and processes.  

Key priorities 

  • Coordinate and help support the smooth running of the operations at each of the DWT office locations and vehicle fleet.
  • Manage soft services and other central operational functions to deliver strong customer service, and to provide a safe, efficient environment for colleagues and visitors.
  • Drive value for money across the facilities team activities and areas of central procurement.
  • Line manage and provide back-up support for the two team members of the facilities team, who are based on site at the Exeter head office. 

 What we’re looking for 

  • Knowledge of building systems and services.
  • Experience of providing central procurement services, including conducting tenders and driving value for money.
  • Line management experience. 

This is a full-time permanent role based at Cricklepit Mill, Exeter.  

Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate will be expected to work on site during normal office hours. This provides the opportunity to work closely with colleagues, build strong relationships, and contribute directly to the day-to-day operation of the organisation.
