The response to our August match appeal has been extraordinary, so much so that we've been able to grow the match pot yet again. 

Thanks to supporters like you, we are delighted that another donor - The Walker Foundation – has now stepped forward to boost the match pot with an additional £100,000 taking it to a new total of £700,000. 

They have been inspired by the wonderful support from people in the local area, across and UK and even further afield.

The Rothbury Estate is still at risk of being sold off and divided, but together we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to secure it for wildlife, people and future generations. 

And an unprecedented opportunity to double your donation.  

Now, every donation up to £700,000 will be doubled until 30 September, to raise £1.4 million to secure The Rothbury Estate.   

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are within striking distance of the £30 million target, with over £26 million raised so far including pledges.

Britain at this scale.

It's 3,800 hectares of life-filled river, land and sky. The Rothbury Estate is brimming with potential. And we have one chance to secure it for nature.

Nature recovery has already begun. Thanks to donations and philanthropic loans, The Wildlife Trusts have already purchased part of The Rothbury Estate, which includes the much-loved Simonside Hills and nature restoration work is already underway.

In the event we don’t raise enough funds to purchase the entire Estate or we are unable to complete the purchase for any reason, funds raised will go towards nature's recovery in the Simonside Hills and surrounding areas.
