Thank you to everyone who doubled their donation in August and September to secure The Rothbury Estate.

With seven days, to go, you did it! Thanks to more than 7,000 donors, our match appeal for The Rothbury Estate has been met, an extraordinary boost to our appeal to raise £30 million.

What began as a £100,000 match fund grew to £800,000, thanks to the incredible generosity of The Dixon Foundation, Ringtons, The Walker Foundation, The Spear Charitable Trust and an anonymous donor.

The Rothbury Estate is still at risk of being sold off and divided, but together we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to secure it for wildlife, people and future generations. 

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are within striking distance of the £30 million target, with over £26 million raised so far including pledges.

Britain at this scale.

Nature recovery has already begun. Thanks to donations and philanthropic loans, The Wildlife Trusts have already purchased part of The Rothbury Estate, which includes the much-loved Simonside Hills and nature restoration work is already underway.

All funds raised - including any funds raised over our target amount of £30 million - will go towards nature’s recovery at The Rothbury Estate. 

In the event we don’t raise enough funds to purchase the entire Estate or we are unable to complete the purchase for any reason, funds raised will go towards nature's recovery in the Simonside Hills and surrounding areas.
