Across the UK and beyond, wildlife is in decline. Fragmented habitats and shrinking wild places have left many species struggling to survive.
While some wonderful wild places are still left, these are often small and disconnected.
Landscape recovery projects restore and reconnect habitats over large areas
Landscape-scale nature recovery projects take place over large stretches of land. These projects can also connect habitats by creating corridors which allow wildlife to move.
Working at scale means we can:
- Reconnect fragmented habitats, allowing wildlife to move more freely to breed and find food and shelter
- Help nature to recover
- Strengthen climate resilience by restoring natural carbon stores like peatlands, forests and saltmarshes
- Support people and communities by creating healthier, greener places to live and work
