A rare wild place is at a crossroads

Lying in the heart of Northumberland, the Rothbury Estate is a breathtaking mix of moorland, woodland, rivers and farmland. It's home to endangered wildlife, rich heritage and thriving rural communities.

Right now, it’s at risk of being sold off, divided and lost for nature.

If it’s sold off to multiple buyers, this extraordinary place could be fragmented, intensively managed and closed off to people and wildlife.

There’s still time to protect it, but we must act now.

For the month of September, whatever you give will be doubled.

100 square meters

£39.50 doubled to £79 could protect 100 square meters of moorland, creating space for skylarks to nest.
£

200 square meters

£79 doubled to £158 could save 200 square meters of woodland, creating a safe haven for species like red squirrels.
£

400 square meters

£158 doubled to £316 could preserve 400 square meters of natural heritage for future generations.

An orange emblem that says "Protect the heart of Northumberland", the word heart is contained in the outline of the Rothbury Estate map, that is heartshaped.

Protect the heart of Northumberland

Every pound you give in September, up to £75,000 will be matched pound for pound raising £150,000. Don't miss your chance to double your impact.

This September, your donation will work twice as hard to secure the whole of the Rothbury Estate for nature and people. Restoring habitats for endangered wildlife while protecting it's rich, cultural heritage. Your gift will support communities in shaping the future of the land.

Your gift doubled for Rothbury.

All funds raised - including any funds raised over our target amount - will go towards nature’s recovery at the Rothbury Estate.

In the event we don’t raise enough funds to purchase the entire Estate or we are unable to complete the purchase for any reason, funds raised will go towards nature's recovery in the Simonside Hills and surrounding areas.

If you would like to discuss a major gift, please contact The Wildlife Trusts' major gifts fundraiser Debbie Johnson by email: djohnson@wildlifetrusts.org
