Vaccinating badgers

Wick River, Scotland

A site in Caithness, Highland, proposed to the Society for its 'fine saltings' – land regularly flooded by tides. Today, parts of the river are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs). Wick River is bordered by marshes and attracts a variety of wading birds and wildfowl. The Wick Sedge can be found here and at only two other sites in the whole of the UK. Scottish Natural Heritage works in partnership with local landowners to ensure the conservation of Wick River.
