Vaccinating badgers

Askham Bog, Yorkshire

A small but botanically rich fen and bog site lying south west of the city of York. The site was identified as being worthy of preservation for its 'peculiar fauna'. Askham Bog became the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's first nature reserve when it was gifted to the Trust on its formation in 1946 by the York chocolate makers, Sir Francis Terry and Arnold Rowntree.
