Wildlife Trust gets grant for green talent

The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) has announced that it has been awarded a grant to develop ‘green talent’ by providing training for those wishing to have a career in nature conservation. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund through its ‘Skills for the Future’ programme*, the grant of £352,000 will enable the Trust to provide a total of 24 one-year work placements over 3 years for anyone wishing to get a foot on the nature conservation ladder.

Wildlife festival to take over Plymouth city centre

This week Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) stages its annual Wildlife Festival. The aim of the festival is to bring wildlife to people encouraging them to do more for the natural world on their doorsteps. The festival will be opened by TV naturalist Nick Baker and will take place in the Armada Way piazza, Plymouth on Saturday 5 June from 10am until 4pm.
