Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing environmental organisations and seeks to appoint a Reserves Officer (Leeds Metropolitan Region).
The Reserves Officer will be responsible for managing and developing a suite of Leeds City Council owned reserves across the Lower Aire Valley. The post holder will initially develop and implement management plans and work programmes identifying work to be undertaken on the ground. Then using a network of volunteers, trainees, contractors and staff, they will ensure that the reserves are managed to a high standard for wildlife and for people.
The successful applicant will have experience of reserve management and of writing management plans. They will also have experience of identifying and drawing down appropriate grants and other external funding opportunities. Additionally, the applicant will need to be self motivated whilst willing to work as part of a team. They will have excellent communication skills as well as a ‘can do’ approach to work. A full clean driving licence is essential.
