Thank you all for your support and responses to the Government consultation. This consultation is now closed whilst these responses are considered.
"The sea around us is one of our last true wildernesses. But these astonishing underwater habitats are fragile and threatened. We need to do much more to protect some of the most remarkable of these sea-bed sites. This is why Marine Conservation Zones must be designated... and soon."
The Government has stated that they will designate the first tranche of sites in 2013 but we need to ensure that these sites are just the start. We need a network of Marine Conservation Zones to protect the extraordinary range of species and habitats in our seas and to allow them to recover to their full potential.
Please do check back on our pages to see how the sites are progressing. If you want to stay in touch with the campaign, why not become a Friend of MCZs?
