Q. How much does it cost to become a member of a Wildlife Trust?

A. Each of the 47 Wildlife Trusts is an independent charity that has different programmes of activity and areas of land to manage. Because of this, there is no standard membership rate and rates can vary from Trust to Trust.

As a rough guide, the average rates for joining a Wildlife Trust are:

  • Individual - £25
  • Joint - £30
  • Family - £38
  • Watch - £15

 

Q. What type of membership are there?

A. There are four main membership options which most of the local Wildlife Trusts offer. They are:

  • Individual
  • Joint (two adults at the same address)
  • Family (two adults and up to four children at the same address*)
  • Watch (up to four children at the same address*)

* Children will sometimes share Wildlife Watch publications.

Some Trusts also offer life membership options.

 

Q. Can I join my local Wildife Trust from this website?

A. You need to purchase membership directly form the Wildlife Trust you wish to join. Please select the Trust that you wish to join from the main Membership Page.

 

Q. What are the benefits of being a member?

A. As a members you will benefit from receiving:

  • A newsletter or magazine from your local Wildlife Trust, keeping you informed about the wildlife on your doorstep and the work of your Trust.
  • Most Wildlife Trusts also send their members national news and articles featuring stunning wildlife photography and the latest news from across the UK. Many Trusts include this national content in their own publication but some Trusts send their members a separate 16 page national magazine (Natural World).
  • Details of the Wildlife Trust nature reserves in your area.
  • Invitations to local events, many of them free.
  • Opportunities to lend a hand and play a direct role in helping local wildlife.
  • Wildlife Watch membership (included in family membership)
  • The knowledge that you have helped keep the UK’s precious wildlife safe for the future.

 

Q. What is Wildlife Watch?

A. Wildlife Watch is The Wildlife Trusts' junior membership branch. It now has over 150,000 members across the UK. Wildlife Watch is open to any age, but is most suitable for ages 8-14.

Taking part in Wildlife Watch is the exciting way to explore your surroundings and get closer to the wildlife you share it with.
