Look for the wood warbler singing from the canopy of oak woodlands in the north and west of the UK. Green above, it has a distinctive, bright yellow throat and eyestripe.

Dartford warblers
Unusually, Dartford warblers stay in the UK all year round. Find a heathland and listen out for their scratchy song, spy them shadowing a stonechat or hunting spiders and caterpillars in a gorse bush.
