Cumbernauld - Forest Wood
a haven for wildlife... and for local people
Virtual tour by Mike McFarlane
Cumbernauld Glen is a patchwork of beautiful ancient woodland and meadows in the heart of the busy town of Cumbernauld, providing a haven for wildlife and an important recreational space for local people.
The reserve acts as a wildlife corridor, allowing animals to move safely from the north to the south.
What's happening?
Scottish Wildlife Trust works in partnership with the Friends of Cumbernauld Glen (FCG) community group to improve and promote the Glen. Recent projects have included developing a mountain bike trail, restoring a wildflower meadow and commissioning a pictorial map showing the different features of interest within the Glen. FCG organise a series of public events and volunteer days in the reserve.
