Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing environmental organisations and seeks to appoint a part-time Volunteer Development Officer for the SW region.
The Volunteering Development Officer (VDO) role will be responsible for encouraging and supporting volunteer involvement in the work of the Trust, including supporting staff in role development, volunteer recruitment, induction and ongoing support. The post holder will also take a lead role in supporting watch groups and supporter groups in the South and West Yorkshire region and in particular support volunteer engagement at Potteric Carr, Stirley Community Farm and our suite of nature reserves in Leeds. They will also be expected to support effective administration within this small team as well as supporting volunteering communications and events.
The successful candidate will have practical experience and understanding of office work within a dynamic and busy organisation as well as an understanding of volunteering and its role within the Trust. They will have good verbal and written communication skills and be highly IT literate.
