Volunteer Assistant Reserves Officer (woodland)

Salary: Voluntary with training budget & some travel expenses

Location: Dingestow, Monmouth, working across sites in the lower wye valley

We are looking for 2 volunteer Assistant Reserves Officers for this excellent training opportunity alongside our Usk to Wye Woodland Officer.

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic volunteers to assist our Usk to Wye Woodland officer to implement practical management, primarily of SSSI woodland nature reserves through the winter period (Nov-Apr). This will involve coppicing, felling and extraction with firewood and charcoal production and will include some survey work. This would suit someone looking to gain experience and certificated training to gain paid employment in nature conservation or woodland management. Possibility of extension (Apr 2018-Sept 2018) to gain experience of grassland management, heathland management and livestock handling with further training given.
