Salary: n/a

Closing date: Tuesday 10th April 2012

Location: Lincolnshire

Join our friendly Centre Team and assist in the day-to-day running of the Education & Visitor Centre at the heart of Far Ings National Nature Reserve

We are looking for a seasonal volunteer to join our team at the Far Ings Education & Visitor Centre, to assist with a busy educational events programme, school visits, the shop and exhibition area.

This opportunity will allow you to gain experience within the sector with a particular focus on environmental education and customer service. The placement is for six months from May 2012 and your support will be required for 25 hours a week. The centre is open to the public Wednesday to Sunday during the summer period so some weekend and evening work will be required, which will include opening and closing the centre.

We are looking for someone with an enthusiasm to learn and gain hands-on experience in a competitive field. Good people/communication skills, an approachable personality and a team worker are required. Some previous experience of working with children in an environmental setting would be an advantage but training will be given.

This is an unpaid position but on-site accommodation is provided in a self-contained apartment.

The role is subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references and an Enhanced CRB Disclosure. The role is suitable for over 18’s only.
