Protect and Sustain Officer - Lincolnshire Coastal Grazing Marshes Landscape Partnership

Salary: Grade 5-6 (£20,858 to £28,636)

Location: Lincolnshire

Following the recent approval of funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, East Lindsey District Council are seeking to recruit a new project team on behalf of the Lincolnshire Coastal Grazing Marshes Landscape Partnership to deliver the approved Landscape Conservation Action Plan over the next three years.

The project vision is to conserve and restore a landscape with a mosaic of grasslands rich in wildlife and intersected by a distinctive pattern of water courses, where both arable and pastoral farming will thrive and local people and visitors will experience the natural and historic environment, benefiting from a year round vibrant rural economy through improved access and sustainable landscape management. 

All of the activities are designed to engage the community, attract a wider audience and increase their awareness and understanding of the local landscape. The projects will also provide people with the skills and knowledge to conserve and enhance the landscape for the future. Protect and Sustain Officer

Grade 5-6 (£20,858 to £28,636)
3 year fixed term contract

Working directly with farmers and landowners you will have a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects that have been designed to assist and support landowners in the practical conservation and management of the natural features of the grazing marshes and its wildlife. The programmes will also build on the existing capacity, infrastructure and investment across the project areas to support the long term viability of livestock grazing, the sustainability of the environment and the development of the local economy.

You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively with the farming community and have a robust knowledge of land management and conservation practices, with a particular knowledge of farming practices, agri-environmental grant schemes and creation and management of wet grassland.

The closing date for all applications is 12noon on Friday 2nd September

All four posts are subject to external funding and therefore fixed term contracts, for a maximum period of three years.
