We currently have an exciting opportunity for a PR and Communications Manager to manage the Grants Unit, PR and Communications team through planning, generating and maintaining publicity and favourable public relations for the programmes that RSWT manages.

The main two programmes comprise:

Biffaward - a multi-million pound fund that helps to build communities and transform lives through awarding grants to community and environmental projects across the UK

And Local Food, which is a £57.5m BIG Lottery funded programme which supports a range of projects that are helping to make locally grown food affordable and accessible to communities.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a PR and Communications Manager to manage the Grants Unit, PR and Communications team through planning, generating and maintaining publicity and favourable public relations for the programmes that RSWT manages.

Overseeing the PR team which creates, organises and delivers publicity activity, you will use your creative flair and PR expertise to create publicity and communications plans, generate press releases and arrange events to shape and influence the image of the organisation. Through the use of a variety of media as well as the new social media channels available, you will oversee the design and production of publicity and promotional material. The successful candidate will also manage any conferences, workshops and other media events that the organisation coordinate, as well as establishing and maintaining media relations through direct communication with local and national journalists to promote certain stories and answer any enquiries.

Liaising with a range of contacts on a regular basis, you will also work collaboratively with sponsors, management boards, local authorities and MPs, providing them with information and updates on the Trust’s work and current environmental issues.

Our ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in implementing effective PR and promotional activities, organising events and managing a small team. With a high level of creativity and innovation, you will be able to convey complex ideas or concepts in a clear and engaging manner, utilising your exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You will also understand the principles of the effective use of social media, as well as excellent IT skills. Experience within the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
