Salary: £14,000 pro rata

An exciting opportunity work with our People and Wildlife Team to inspire people about the natural world.
Cheshire Wildlife Trust (CWT) is offering an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work as a People and Wildlife Assistant. The Assistant will be responsible for working with the People and Wildlife Team to deliver education work to inspire people about the natural world. They will help to develop and deliver Key Stage 1 and 2 educational programmes in schools and at Bickley Hall Farm and other countryside sites. With the support of other staff members they will also assist with family events, lead guided walks and practical volunteer days. The Assistant will be undertaking duties associated with the ‘Go with the Flow’ Project, supported by funding from The Westminster Foundation which focuses around the River Dee in Cheshire.
A good general knowledge of wildlife and conservation issues is essential. A degree in a relevant subject (eg environmental science, countryside management, education) is preferred as is a good understanding of the Primary National Curriculum. The successful applicant will need to be aware of the Health & Safety requirements, welfare and child protection issues involved with working with children and young people. A CRB check will be required for this post. A full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.
This is a part-time post, 3 days per week and some weekend working may be required. Initial 3 year contract, with a possible extension subject to funding.
