Do you want to be part of the solution: helping the UK to create a Living Landscape and secure Living Seas for future generations to enjoy?
After the Second World War people who cared about nature set up Wildlife Trusts in every corner of the UK to save special places and influence future decisions. Now we have more than 800,000 members – 93,000 hectares of land – and most important of all, we are part of the local community we serve, reflected in part by our 35,000 volunteers.
The 47 Wildlife Trusts come together through a central charity, the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, which is approaching it’s centenary in 2012. RSWT is an energetic and fast-paced operation designed to both serve and lead this great local movement.
RSWT is looking for an experienced and creative Media Officer to promote Wildlife Trusts’ work and vision with a view to influencing policy, decision-makers, funders and public opinion.
Our ideal candidate will be energetic with a passion for our vision. You will be experienced at working proactively to develop and manage relationships with media contacts in order to develop feature opportunities.
Acting as an ambassador, you will work to position Wildlife Trusts. You will have experience of working for an in house press office or PR agency, developing media plans and generating news stories and publicity events. Your writing style will be energising and demonstrate creative flair.
If you are looking for a challenging role and have the passion and energy to drive change through leading others, we would love to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to work together in the UK towards a better future – you should be part of it.
