We are looking for an exceptional individual to join the Nene Valley Nature Improvement Area Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a lead role in the delivery of this major landscape scale project.
Hosted by Northamptonshire County Council in their Planning Policy Team you will work with the Local Planning Authorities, Northamptonshire Joint Planning Units, and other partners and stakeholders to lead on maximising opportunities for the natural environment afforded by the planning system within the NIA.
You will need a good understanding of planning and nature conservation policy and its implementation on the ground with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
The Nene Valley is the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire's priority Living Landscape in Northamptonshire and is one of twelve Nature Improvement Areas across England. The Upper Nene Valley Gravel Pits is designated as a Special Protection Area, Ramsar Site and Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Location: Northamptonshire County Council, County Hall, Northampton
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week. Full-time, fixed-term, until April 2015.
Salary: £31,734 - £35,430 per annum pro rata (plus contributory pension after six months).
