Nene Valley NIA Land Advisor

Salary: Up to £19,300 per annum

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join the Nene Valley Nature Improvement Area Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a lead role in the delivery of this major landscape scale project.

You will engage land owners in giving whole farm conservation advice in order to improve, buffer and better connect core sites. You will work closely with those who already provide farm conservation advice in the County, especially Natural England and the Nene Catchment Sensitive Farming Partnership, to help produce a more coordinated approach to landscape-scale delivery.

You will need a good understanding of nature conservation policy, have experience of working with and advising farmers and land managers on nature conservation issues, as well as the ability to manage and deliver effective projects on the ground.

The Nene Valley is the Wildlife Trust’s priority Living Landscape in Northamptonshire and is one of twelve Nature Improvement Areas across England. The Upper Nene Valley Gravel Pits is designated as a Special Protection Area, Ramsar Site and Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Location: Lings House, Northampton.
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week. Full-time, fixed-term, until April 2015.

Salary: Up to £19,300 per annum (plus contributory pension after six months).
