Nene Valley Education and Community Manager

Salary: £21,000 - £24,000 per annum depending on experience (plus contributory pension after six months).

The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire seeks a highly-motivated individual to lead efforts to promote community involvement in wildlife conservation through management and delivery of education and community activities in the Wildlife Trust’s Nene Valley living landscape.

The post will oversee development of new resources, activities and programmes in the Nene Valley, particularly around the Wildlife Trust’s newest nature reserve; Irthlingborough Lakes & Meadows. This will include community outreach, visits to the nature reserve for schools and community groups, family and community wildlife-themed events, sessions for young families, a social history project linked to Irthlingborough in the Nene Valley, a youth involvement project, teacher-training, school grounds advice and volunteering programmes.

Applicants with an environmental background, volunteer management experience and a strong ability to communicate, organise and lead are encouraged to apply. A valid driving licence, vehicle available for business use and a satisfactory enhanced CRB Disclosure are required.
