Living Landscapes Advocacy Manager

Salary: £30,000 plus benefits

Location: Based in Aberystwyth with significant travel around Wales

Wildlife Trusts Wales

Wildlife Trusts Wales is the co-ordinating body of the Wildlife Trusts in Wales, acting as the united voice of the six Welsh Trusts. It speaks on behalf of the Welsh Trusts on areas of national interest and drives forward a programme of all-Wales work best delivered from a national platform. WTW is an effective player in the generation of TWT wide policy development and advocacy work.

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced conservation professional to assist us in achieving our vision of a Living Landscape for Wales. Taking our message of climate change adaptation to politicians, business leaders, members and the wider public, you will gather support for strong policies as well as developing an essential evidence base to underpin the campaign and policy work. Working closely with the CEO to develop the legislative and policy mechanisms, you will assist in developing key areas of our responses to Government consultations and advocate any necessary policy changes to Government at all levels. Ensuring seamless communication between agencies, industry and potential funders, you will use our existing communication channels to deliver high profile campaigns aimed at policy decision makers, key land user groups, members and the general public.

Our ideal candidate will be a senior manager, able to act as a representative of the organisation at high-level meetings as well as in the media. You have experience of nature conservation and you will be a creative and innovative individual who can lead and generate campaigns with minimal resources. Your strategic approach, imagination and skills will help us manage and lead partnerships to achieve our vision.

This role involves extensive travel around Wales, to WTW head office in Cardiff and occasionally throughout the UK. As such a full UK driving licence is essential.
