Head of Land Management

Salary: Salary Range £28,989 - £32,148

Closing date: Wednesday 13th June 2012

Location: Somerset

Full-time 37.5 hours per week. Somerset Wildlife Trust seeks an experienced person to lead its nature reserves and land management operation which includes over 75 sites and some major habitat creation projects. We have a large and professional team of reserves managers, and a substantial grazing operation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional conservation land manager to join a highly motivated team at a key stage in its development and growth

You will assist in the development of a long-term strategy for the Trusts reserves, central to which will be aligning it with the Trusts Living Landscape work, where reserves form part of larger ecological networks and aid wildlife adaptation to climate change. You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and have substantial knowledge and skills, likely to be demonstrated by considerable experience in a similar role and by appropriate vocational qualifications.

You will join our management team and will have experience of people and resource management within a conservation land management context as well as a commitment to and knowledge of wildlife and habitat conservation.
