An exciting opportunity for a Head of Conservation and Education to be responsible for delivering our clients strategic plan within the county of Oxfordshire where 30 of their sites are located.

Full Time, Permanent – 35 hours per week
Our client is a membership-based voluntary organisation, managing 80 nature reserves, 3 environmental education centres and a major visitor centre with 50,000 visitors per year.
They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Conservation and Education to be responsible for delivering our clients strategic plan within the county of Oxfordshire where 30 of their sites are located.
As a member of the Senior Management Team you will be responsible for multi-disciplinary team of staff and the delivery of key strategic and operational objectives within the county. You will ensure the development, delivery, monitoring and review of conservation and education programmes across the county.
Providing leadership, inspiration and guidance to shape the work of the county based staff and volunteers you will be responsible for the development of their profile and reputation amongst key audiences and decision makers.
You will be responsible for ensuring their nature reserves, community and education sites in Oxfordshire are delivering their agreed management plans. Optimising all opportunities you will promote and seek support for the work and aims of our client.
Their ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level or equivalent with significant experience of managing staff as well as excellent project management skills. You will have substantial experience in environmental, community, charity or volunteering sector. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the nature conservation and principles of ecology. You will have strong budget setting, financial management and IT skills.
