Head of Community Programmes

Salary: £30,000 plus pension and life insurance

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust are looking for someone to lead the strategic planning and development of the Trust’s community programmes. The Trust wants to engage with the largest possible number of people in Gloucestershire through high-quality activities and events; to enhance wellbeing and quality of life, raise awareness of the benefits of conserving wildlife, and increase commitment to taking action to support wildlife conservation.

The postholder will oversee the development, management, promotion and delivery of a range of innovative, inspirational and creative community programmes covering community development, community out-reach and engagement, health and wellbeing, educational courses and activities, festivals and celebrations, campaigns to raise public awareness, projects in school grounds, programmes to engage active community participation (like wildlife gardening, species ‘watches'), and the development of training programmes.

We are looking for a proactive partnership builder who can extend and develop the scale of our work by working closely with others. This is a significant management challenge and the postholder will be expected to develop and support all staff who are responsible for delivering community programmes, as well as managing related budgets.
