Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing environmental organisations and seeks to appoint a Finance Officer.
The Finance Officer is responsible for the day to day financial operations of the Trust which includes ensuring timely processing of all payments and accurate record keeping. In addition the role includes doing the monthly payroll, and providing support to the Financial Accountant and the Director of Central Services, as well as providing grant administration support to project officers. This is a key role in ensuring the finances of the Trust run smoothly. The post holder will manage the Finance and Administration Assistant and any finance volunteers to ensure the team provides the best possible financial service to colleagues, and will have wide ranging contact with staff across the organisation.
The successful applicant will have knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC procedures as well as a good understanding of the principles of accounting and financial controls. Ideally they will have experience of Sage payroll and Iris Exchequer. The successful applicant will be AAT qualified, have a good knowledge of IT packages such as excel, word and outlook. They will be able to work with minimum supervision but also as part of a team, and be able to communicate with tact, diplomacy and confidence.
