Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing environmental organisations and seeks to appoint a Dearne Valley Nature Improvement Area Riparian Adviser.
This post will run to 31st March 2015, and has been funded by Defra to support the development of the Dearne Valley Nature Improvement Area. The Officer will work on behalf of the Dearne Valley Green Heart (DVGH) Partnership and closely with the Dearne Valley Green Heart NIA Project Officer, NIA Community Rangers, DVGH Partners and local landowners to promote the biodiversity value of the Dearne Valley. This role will focus on the survey and monitoring of key wetland species within the Nature Improvement Area with a focus on riparian mammals.
The successful applicant will have experience of managing projects and budgets as well as experience of land management and experience of ecological surveying. They will also have a good understanding of the general principals of nature conservation and be IT literate with strong and effective organisation skills.
Additionally, the successful applicant will need to be self motivated whilst willing to work as part of a team. They will have excellent communication skills as well as a ‘can do’ approach to work. A full clean driving licence is essential.
