Part Time – 28 hrs per week Fixed Contract - 7 months from start date Cheshire Wildlife Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for a Project Assistant to support our work to help secure the future for water vole populations in the Cheshire region.
The Cheshire Water Vole Project Assistant will be working closely with the Cheshire Water Vole Officer and Biodiversity Manager to engage local communities in water vole conservation and provide valuable up to date survey information.
Previous experience of undertaking wildlife surveys, particularly water vole and working with volunteers would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided. You will need to have a passion for wildlife and be able to motivate and enthuse a wide range of audiences. A willingness to be flexible and work on your own initiative, as well as part of a team is also crucial to this post.
You will need to have a reasonable level of fitness and mobility and be able to spend a significant amount of time outside, sometimes on difficult terrain. There may be occasions when you will need to work outside of normal office hours for which time of in lieu will be available once agreed with your line manager. The post will involve regular travel throughout the project area so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is essential. The post will be based at Bickley Hall Farm, Bickley, Cheshire, SY14 8EF.
