Attenborough’s ACE Project Officer

Salary: Circa £21,000 pro rata for 30 hours per week

Closing date: Wednesday 14th November 2012

Location: Nottinghamshire

Job ref: ACE PO

Attenborough’s Access, Community & Education Project: with Heritage Lottery Funding we have two vacancies for fixed term contracts of three years until December 2015.

Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is a dynamic conservation charity with around 11,000 members working at local and regional level to secure a better future for wildlife and people. Managing more than 70 nature reserves, working with local communities and campaigning for the natural world, the Wildlife Trust is the County’s leading wildlife organisation.

An enthusiastic and self motivated Project Officer is required to co-ordinate, deliver and promote a heritage-based access, community outreach and education programme of improvements for Attenborough Nature Reserve, Attenborough Nature Centre and the Erewash Valley Living Landscape area.

This will involve co-ordination, delivery and involvement on a wide range of improvements planned for Attenborough Nature Reserve including elements of innovative interpretation, an oral histories project, new activities on and off site, outreach activities, sustainable transport and habitat creation works. The post holder will play a central role to the coordination of the team that will install numerous high quality improvements to the reserve, and champion the site’s ability to engage everybody with wildlife.

This post will require weekend and Bank Holiday working, and will be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau disclosure as it involves working directly with children or vulnerable adults. It is a three year fixed-term contract from December 2012 to December 2015 and is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Closing date: 10am, Wednesday 14th November 2012
