Attenborough’s Access, Community & Education Project

Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is a dynamic conservation charity with around 11,000 members working at local and regional level to secure a better future for wildlife and people. Managing more than 70 nature reserves, working with local communities and campaigning for the natural world, the Wildlife Trust is the County’s leading wildlife organisation. With Heritage Lottery Funding we have two vacancies for fixed term contracts of three years until December 2015.

An enthusiastic and organised Community Ranger is required to support visitors to Attenborough Nature Reserve and to devise and deliver a range of weekend and midweek events at Attenborough Nature Reserve for the Attenborough’s ACE (Access, Community, Education) project. Events will be tailored to provide opportunities for a variety of audiences from children, young people, disabled and older people.

The post holder will also devise and deliver community outreach and environmental education opportunities in the Erewash Valley Living Landscape Area and develop volunteer training and development opportunities for Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.

This post will require weekend and Bank Holiday working, and will be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau disclosure as it involves working directly with children or vulnerable adults. It is a three year fixed-term contract from December 2012 to December 2015 and is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
