Sponsor a red squirrel with Hampshire and Isle of White Wildlife Trust
Red squirrels are smaller than the grey squirrel and can be easily recognised by their reddish brown coat and long ear tufts. Although absent from much of Southern England, red squirrels are found in over 90% of the Isle of Wight’s woodlands including our Eaglehead and Bloodstone Copse and Swanpond Copse Wildlife Reserves) thanks to sympathetic woodland management and the absence of the grey squirrel on the Island. Sponsoring a red squirrel, either for yourself or as a gift for someone else, costs just £20 and will enable us to continue to manage our woodlands in ways that will help the red squirrel to flourish. Sponsors receive a gift card including a picture, some notes about the red squirrel and a certificate of sponsorship.
