Lackford's 30th birthday weekend

Family event for all ages.

Join us to celebrate our 30th Birthday.

12.15pm Saturday we will be cutting our Birthday cake!

Saturday 2pm and Sunday 10.30am and 2pm find out how Lackford has changed over the past 30 years with a guided walk from site manager Will Cranstoun and reserves assistant Joe Bell-Tye. Explore areas of the reserve you wouldn't normally see and hear about how they are continuing to conserve and protect our own bit of the Brecks! 

A family quiz history trail will run around the kingfisher trail where there will also be opportunties for you to talk to volunteers about the wildlife your seeing.

At 1pm on Saturday there will be an exciting opportunity to take a closer look at the moths found at Lackford Lakes.

Family activities like guided pond dipping (bookable at reception) and bug hunting will be running all weekend between 11 and 4pm! There will also be fete games that have been made and will be ran by our young wardens and crafts for children to make and take home!

The visitor centre will be also be open 10-5pm for you to relax in with a hot drink and a piece of cake after your exploration around our reserve! Please note light refreshments are only served till 4.30pm.

Pond dipping times 

Sessions will be at 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm.
