Ham Fen Beaver Evening

4 September 2013 - 6:30pm - 9:00pm

Event details

4 September 2013 - 6:30pm - 9:00pm

This walk will be led by Tony Swandale, East Kent Coastal Warden for Kent Wildlife Trust.

People stand a reasonable chance of seeing a beaver as the light goes but nothing is guaranteed. If not, they will certainly see plenty of evidence of thier workings - coppicing, dams, channels and of course the lodge - and learn about the important ecological role they perform. The site is generally waterlogged even in summer - wear wellingtons and subdued clothing. Bring a torch if possible, no dogs allowed.

Take the road to Ham off A258 south of sandwich; reserve is on left after 1/2 mile. Meet at the reserve car park.

Numbers are limited for this walk so please phone to book. Organised by Ashford and Tenterden Local Group.
