GWTRinging pliers, Jon Prince

Event details

7 August 2013 - 8:00am - 11:00am

Mist netting and bird ringing will be carried out at Magor Marsh from dawn until 11am, with members of the public invited to come along from 8am. The actual demonstration will be held a short distance away from where the birds are caught to minimise disturbance. There will be opportunities to see a range of bird species in the hand – subject to what is caught through the morning – and to watch them being ringed. Explanations will be given about how the ringing at Magor and elsewhere contributes to conservation. Tutor Ian Vaughan.
