How gardeners can encourage wild solitary bees and bumblebees in their gardens through plant choices and the provision of nest sites. The course will start with a talk about pollinating insects and plant choices followed by a tour of Helen Bosanquet’s beautiful walled gardens to look at interaction between bees and flowers. Note that this course will concentrate on wild bees only, and will not cover honeybees or beekeeping. Tutor: Marc Carlton.

BOOKING ESSENTIAL

Wear suitable clothing and shoes for walking around garden and bring an umbrella if rain threatens.  A hand lens will be useful.
