The Peak District's Eastern Moors boast a variety of habitats, including heather moorland, acid grassland, blanket bog and woodland.

The whole estate is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), now managed by the Eastern Moors Partnership, set up by the RSPB and the National Trust. Its varied wildlife includes many bird species as well as adders and red deer.

The Wye and Upper Derwent Group has organised this visit, led by Senior Warden Kim Strawbridge.
