Oxford Festival of Nature is coming! The event, which includes the 2013 Oxford BioBlitz and this year's wildlife themed West Oxford Fun Day is all set to be a great day (and night) out! Featuring a host of local wildlife and community groups, family activities, live birds and animals, walks, talks, and much more all over the space of 24 hours, there's plenty to see and do.

Activities kick off on Friday evening and include the fantastic guest speakers 'Hedgehog' Hugh Warwick (author and hedgehog guru), bee extraordinaire Ivan Wright (of Shotover Wildlife) & bird expert Dr Alan Larkman (of Oxford Ornithological Society).

Later on in the evening (just in time for the dusk chorus) you can head outside for a guided bird identification walk, a walk and talk on bats (armed with bat detectors) and a chance to get involved with night-flying insect trapping, which will hopefully attract some of our elusive yet beautiful native moths.

All of this will contribute to a 24 hour BioBlitz, identifying as many species as possible within the park. In the 2012 Oxford BioBlitz we found 777 species. Can we do better this year? There's only one way to find out!

These activities are free, but booking is essential. For bookings and more information about Oxford Festival of Nature please go to www.oxfordfestivalofnature.org
