Marbled White ButterflyButterfly Walk

Event details

5 July 2013 - 11:00am - 1:00pm

The second walk on the Rowley Hills in 2013 to see what effect the hawthorn and bramble clearance work undertaken in the winter by the Wildlife Trust and volunteers has had on the butterflies that frequent the hillside. The walk will be led by local butterfly expert, Mike Poulton.

The flowers on the hillside should just about be at their best by this time and if the day is sunny we will see many species of butterflies, including Marbled White in what is probably its only extant Black Country site. Meet at the bottom of the track leading onto the hillside near Kentucky Fried Chicken on the Wolverhampton Road A4123 at 11am.
Stout footwear recommended. Steep paths which could be slippery.
