Event details

16 June 2013 - 9:00am - 4:30pm

Join us for an amazing attempt to gather 600 species in a non-stop 30 hour wildlife survey! This event runs from 10.30am Saturday 15th June through to 4.30pm Sunday 16th June. Turn up and go for a walk on your own or join in on an organised event.

Come along and join in with an organised event, or go off for a ramble in the area with a recording sheet and try and spot as many species as you can! Don’t worry, you don’t have to stay for the whole 30 hours, unless you want to!

The ‘Siccaridge 600’ is aimed at everyone, from county recorders, experts and keen enthusiasts to the general public. We’ll be holding a number of different events and surveys focusing on different wildlife such as moths, wild flowers and small mammals and using different survey methods such as setting live capture traps for moths or mammals.

You’ll learn how to identify species, and get an idea of just how diverse wildlife is in our Siccaridge Wood nature reserve and the surrounding Sapperton Valley. Why not make a day of it by visiting the nearby Daneway Inn or enjoy a picnic in this beautiful setting. Dogs on leads welcome.

Some organised walks will be bookable.
