29 May 2013 - 7:30pm - 9:30pm

Illustrated talk with Stowmarket Wildlife Group.

Eels across Europe belong to the same population, so what happens in Suffolk affects eels as far away as Morocco and Poland, and vice versa. Our rivers receive only a tiny fraction of the numbers of baby eels that they did 30 years ago. There are many possible reasons in freshwater and the marine, but before we can apply the right solutions, we need to know how many eels we have, and what has/is affecting their production.

Alan will describe recent scientific investigations and explain how these support eel conservation in Suffolk and across Europe.

All welcome to come along, no need to book.
